Claire Jones was the Royal Harpist to the prince of Wales--one of only three individuals in modern times to hold that position--from 2007 through 2011. She performed at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. And on the heels of her first American tour she has now released her first American disk, entitled "Royal Harp Strings".
Subsequent to her work as the royal harpist, she was trotting the globe performing, but began to suffer the debilitating effects of what would be diagnosed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She was able to overcome the illness naturally through chiropractic and other natural techniques--among them listening to music, some of which appears on this disk.
I spoke to her from London, and she told me that the disk is very personal for her, as much of the music on the disk was and integral part of her recovery. The selections also include arrangements of folk tunes and classical selections, as well as some pieces written for her by her husband.
