While the Chicago Symphony is on strike, the Philadelphia Orchestra and its players have signed a new contract ahead of schedule.
This is not to say that the orchestra hasn't had issues in the past. In 2016 they declared bankruptcy, and there was a brief strike. But things now seem to be looking up for the ensemble.
The new contract is for four years.
